1 Dead, 26 Rescued After Massive Fire At Delhi Building

When a fire broke out at a residential building in the Shakarpur neighborhood of eastern Delhi, firefighters saved 26 people—among them a one-year-old child—but one woman perished, according to officials. Sixty people were inside the building when the fire started late on Monday night, according to officials.

“Last night, a residential building in East Delhi’s Shakarpur neighborhood caught fire, leaving one woman dead. Officials from the Delhi Fire Service said that when the fire brigade arrived, they extinguished the flames and saved 26 lives.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and initiated rescue efforts after learning of the situation.

After several hours of fighting the fire, they claimed it was extinguished.

By putting a ladder next to the building’s window, the firefighters saved individuals one by one.
