Supriya Sule Requests NCP Leaders’ Attendance at Meeting in Support of “83-Year-Old Warrior”

NCP Working President Supriya Sule urged party lawmakers and supporters to show up to the meeting that Sharad Pawar scheduled today. The rallying cry comes as the opposing side, led by Ajit Pawar, has also declared a meeting of all party MLAs for today.

“I humbly ask that you all turn out in force for this gathering. The 83-year-old young fighter, also known as our renowned Pawar Saheb, will advise all office holders and staff tomorrow to provide guidance for our Nationalist Congress Party, Ms. Sule said in a video.

The meeting takes place only a few days after Ms. Sule’s cousin Ajit Pawar joined the BJP-Shiv Sena government in Maharashtra after resigning as the opposition leader.

He presently shares the position of Deputy Chief Minister with Devendra Fadnavis of the BJP.After Ajit Pawar’s defection, Sharad Pawar fired the party’s working president Praful Patel as well as the general secretary and treasurer Sunil Tatkare for indulging in “anti-party” activities.

The Ajit Pawar group promptly retaliated by appointing fresh candidates and ousting Jayant Patil as state NCP president.

Today’s meetings will reveal which side genuinely has the majority of NCP legislators’ backing, despite both factions professing to do so.

The NCP of Sharad Pawar has petitioned Rahul Narvekar, Speaker of the Maharashtra Assembly, to oust Ajit Pawar and his eight supporters.

Sharad Pawar, who created the NCP in 1999, continues to serve as the party’s leader, and the party has also written to the Election Commission of India (EC) to confirm this.
