Lok Sabha Election Results 2024: On Tuesday, June 4, JDU leader Khalid Anwar raised the question of whether Nitish Kumar should be nominated as the prime minister candidate, given that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is expected to lose the majority in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 and the NDA is significantly ahead of the halfway mark. He claimed that people wanted Kumar to be the country’s leader because he is a “seasoned politician.” when the vote counting proceeded, he made these comments when the JDU, a BJP ally, was leading in 14 seats in Bihar, overtaking the BJP, which was leading in 12 seats.

Amidst rumours that Nitish Kumar will become an I.N.D.I.Anwar stated that the JDU was a part of the NDA “as of now” as the opposition alliance was leading on over 230 seats, falling roughly 40 seats short of the necessary 272 seats.

“Nitish Kumar is the best Prime Minister there is?Nitish Kumar is a seasoned politician with knowledge of the nation and its society. Additionally, he values every democratic institution. As of right now, we are a member of the NDA Alliance, but people have always wanted Nitish Kumar to be the prime minister. After today’s outcome, people’s expectations have grown,” he remarked.

Following the BJP’s divided mandate, new rumours
While the party-led NDA easily passed the 272 midway mark, speculation started when the BJP failed to secure the majority on its own. The INDIA group has scheduled a conference of its leaders for tomorrow to determine on the next course of action in the midst of all these rumours.

Prithviraj Chavan, the head of the Congress party, did not completely rule out proposing Chandrababu Naidu of the TDP, who rejoined the NDA shortly before the polls, and Nitish Kumar, who left the group earlier this year and re-joined the BJP, to join the coalition.
