Anti-Terror Op In Jammu And Kashmir’s Kulgam Enters Day 2

Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district tightened the area’s cordon on Friday to keep terrorists from escaping as the anti-terror operation entered its second day.
Officials said that after a silent night at Samno in the Nehama neighborhood of Kulgam, gunfire broke out early on Friday.

Following reports of terrorist activity in the area on Thursday, the security forces began a search and cordon operation in Kulgam’s Nehama village, according to the officials.

According to them, the terrorists opened fire on the security personnel, turning the search operation into a gunfight.

The operation was halted overnight, according to the officials, even though the security forces kept a tight perimeter around the terrorists’ hiding place.

The officials stated that they have not yet received any reports of casualties and that more information is being awaited.

According to sources, three Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists—two foreigners and one local—are thought to be imprisoned in the area under lockdown.
