After the incident in Rajendra Nagar, Delhi government is bringing a new law to regulate coaching centres. Education Minister Atishi has announced this. Atishi said that just like private schools are regulated under a law, private hospitals are regulated under a law, similarly Delhi government will bring a law to regulate coaching institutes.
Further he said that all types of coaching institutes will come under its purview. Through this law, infrastructure, teachers qualification, fee regulation, misleading advertisements will be stopped. Regular inspection of coaching institutes will also be done.
For this we will form a committee. In which apart from officials, students of coaching institutes will also be included. To get feedback for this law, a mail ID Coaching.law.feedback@gmail.com has been created. On which your feedback can be given.
Delhi Minister and AAP leader Atishi said that two important things have come to light, first is that the drains which were responsible for waterlogging in that area were encroached upon by all the coaching centres there. Due to which water was not able to drain out from the drains. The second thing is that running classes and library in the basement was 100% illegal. The basement could have been used for parking and storage. Based on the preliminary report, MCD started action. The JE who was responsible has been dismissed from MCD. AE has been suspended immediately. I want to assure you that as soon as the full investigation report comes out and if any officer other than these officers is involved, strict action will be taken against them.
