Gang War Continues Inside Delhi’s Tihar Jail, Rivals Stab Another Prisoner

According to police, a fight between allegedly rival gang members inside the Tihar Jail resulted in the stabbing of a prisoner.
According to reports, the injured man, Hitesh, is receiving treatment at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital and is the subject of an ongoing murder case.

According to an officer, the fight started on Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. between two members of the Tillu Tajpuriya gang and Hitesh, a member of the Gogi gang.

According to a police source, Hitesh was stabbed with something akin to an ice pick.

“On Wednesday, the Hari Nagar Police Station received a report from DDU regarding the transport of an injured man from Tihar jail to the hospital. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Vichitra Veer, “the local police arrived at the hospital and made inquiries about the situation based on that information.”

“The individuals who assaulted Hitesh have been identified as Gurinder and Gaurav Lohra. Confirming the attackers’ identities at this time is still under investigation. After suffering injuries, Hitesh was sent to the DDU hospital, he stated.

According to the officer, Hitesh has been detained since 2019, and Gaurav and Gurinder are currently facing trial for attempted and actual murder.

“Based on the nature of injuries, a case under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered and the investigation is being conducted,” said the DCP.

In May of last year, multiple members of a rival gang fatally stabbed gangster Tajpuriya inside the same jail.
