Mahindra & Mahindra has announced a price hike of up to 3% on its SUVs and commercial vehicles, effective April. The automaker stated that while it has absorbed most of the escalating input costs, it is now necessary to pass on a portion of the burden to customers.
The price adjustment will vary across different SUV and commercial vehicle models, as per Mahindra’s official statement.
This decision follows a strong performance in February for the Mumbai-based company. Mahindra recorded total auto sales of 83,702 vehicles last month, reflecting a 15% year-on-year growth, including exports. In its flagship Utility Vehicles (UV) segment, domestic sales surged by 19% to 50,420 units, while total UV sales, including exports, stood at 52,386 units. Commercial vehicle sales in the domestic market reached 23,826 units.
The company also witnessed significant growth in its tractor division, with total tractor sales (domestic and exports) rising to 25,527 units in February 2025, compared to 21,672 units in the same month last year. Domestic tractor sales increased to 23,880 units from 20,121 in February 2024, while exports for the month stood at 1,647 units.
Mahindra joins a growing list of automakers implementing price hikes from April due to rising input costs. Competitors including Maruti Suzuki India, Hyundai Motor, Tata Motors, Kia India, BMW, and Honda Cars India have already announced similar increases.
On Friday, shares of Mahindra & Mahindra closed 1.08% lower at ₹2,799.30 on the BSE.
