In A First, Senior Citizens Can Opt For Home Voting In Telangana

In the majority of Telangana’s 33 districts, the “home voting” process has started and will be finished by November 26.

“Most districts have begun the process of home voting as of today, November 21. By November 26th, all other cases will be covered, having started the process already. In a press release sent out late on Tuesday night, Chief Electoral Officer Vikas stated, “Voters who are casting their ballots at home have expressed their happiness and appreciated the efforts of the administration and EC for providing such facility to them.”

All senior citizens in Telangana who are 80 years of age or older will have the option to vote from the comfort of their homes for the first time.

According to the release, Vikas Raj held a video conference with the Commissioner, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, every District Election Officer, and every Returning Officer on Tuesday to go over the preparatory poll activities.

The CEO examined the current state of Home Voting, which is being offered for the first time in Telangana and allows senior citizens and PwD voters to cast their ballots at home instead of at polling places, according to the statement.

40.72 lakh of the 43.96 lakh new voter photo identity cards that are scheduled to be printed in Telangana state have already been received. It stated that the remaining EPICs would be printed in two days.

The Department of Posts has already delivered 27 lakh EPICs to voters, and it said that the remaining ones will be given out over the course of the next five days.
