Operation Sindoor: India Strikes Back, Destroys Muridke Terror Camp Linked to 26/11 Attackers

In a decisive retaliatory move following the brutal Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor, striking nine terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) on Wednesday. Among the most significant targets was the Muridke facility, widely known as the ideological base of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and infamous for training Ajmal Kasab and David Headley, key perpetrators of the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

Colonel Sofiya Qureshi presented visuals of the strike, showcasing destroyed terror camps, including the Muridke site. She confirmed that no military installations were targeted during the operation and, crucially, there have been no reports of civilian casualties.

According to top security sources, the strikes were executed with precision, resulting in the neutralization of over 80 terrorists, with 25–30 militants eliminated at both the Bahawalpur and Muridke camps. Another major target included the Markaz Subhan Allah camp in Bahawalpur, a key base for Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).

Wing Commander Vyomika Singh emphasized that the operation was a calculated and targeted response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 25 Indian civilians and one Nepali citizen. The military action aimed to avoid civilian infrastructure and ensure zero collateral damage.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri underscored the brutality of the Pahalgam attack, describing it as a deliberate massacre where victims were executed at close range in front of their families — an act intended to instill fear and disrupt the return of normalcy to the region. He revealed that the attack was orchestrated by The Resistance Front, a proxy for the UN-proscribed Lashkar-e-Taiba, and that intercepted communications provided strong evidence of the group’s ties to handlers in Pakistan.

Misri justified India’s military response, stating that despite the passage of two weeks, Pakistan had shown no initiative in dismantling terror infrastructure on its soil. “Our intelligence indicated further attacks were imminent. Thus, India exercised its right to respond in a measured, proportionate, and responsible manner. The goal was not escalation, but to dismantle the operational bases of terror.”

With Operation Sindoor, India sends a clear message: acts of terror will not go unanswered, and justice for victims will be pursued with resolve.
