When the IPL 2023 season began with Punjab Kings, the young Prabhsimran Singh remarked on Wednesday that he felt he belonged at this level. The hundred he scored against the Delhi Capitals further increased his self-assurance as a batter.
Prabhsimran Singh, who participated in the IPL for the first time, had previously displayed hints of his explosive personality. He was unable to stake a place in the side, though. In IPL 2023, things did, however, change for the 22-year-old.
Prabhsimran Singh had a strong start to the season, scoring 40 runs off 22 balls in his opening game against Chennai Super Kings. Then, against Kolkata Knight Riders, he scored 56 runs off 42 balls. He was unable to keep up his success, though, and only scored 27 runs in his next three games. Then, in order to demonstrate his talent on the largest stage, he struck a century against Delhi Capitals.
Updates on IPL 2023, PBKS vs. DC
Sam Curran’s 20 was the next-best score for Punjab after Prabhsimran’s 103 from 65 balls on a slow Delhi pitch. In their pursuit, Delhi Capitals had trouble, reaching only 136 for 8 in 20 overs.
“I had the belief that I belong here when the tournament started and when I scored a hundred, I was really happy. I spoke with my family members and they were very happy. It gives so much confidence,” Prabhsimran told IPL on their matchday as PBKS hosted Delhi Capitals in the first match in Dharamsala of the season.
In the IPL 2023 season, Prabhsimran has demonstrated the poise necessary to handle challenging situations while displaying his explosive big-hitting abilities at the top of the order for Punjab.
INDIA CAP DREAMS?
