The ongoing conflict in the Middle East has taken a serious turn as Iranian missile strikes hit areas close to Israel’s sensitive nuclear research zone. Explosions were reported in the southern towns of Dimona and Arad, heightening concerns due to their proximity to a key nuclear facility.

Officials and eyewitness footage indicate that at least two ballistic missiles managed to bypass Israel’s air defence systems—marking the first such breach in the vicinity of the nuclear site. Videos shared online captured intense fireballs and powerful blasts as the missiles struck.

Emergency services reported that over 100 people were injured in the attacks, with rescue operations swiftly underway in both cities. Dimona lies approximately 20 kilometres from the nuclear research centre, while Arad is about 35 kilometres to the north.

This development suggests a significant escalation in hostilities as the conflict enters its fourth week, raising fears about further attacks and the growing threat to critical infrastructure in the region.
