Mumbai and Delhi have experienced moderate to heavy rainfall, and the weather service expects both cities to have further showers on Thursday.

The national capital’s minimum temperature plummeted to 26.5 degrees Celsius, which is a degree lower than the season’s average.

Rain caused waterlogging and traffic delays in a number of Delhi neighbourhoods. According to rainfall statistics from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the intensity of the rain in Mumbai intensified after midnight on Thursday, and several places including Dadar, Mahim, Khar, Matunga, and Kurla experienced deluge in the range of 40 mm to 70 mm in the previous 12 hours.

IMD Mumbai has predicted “heavy rainfall in the city and suburbs with very heavy rainfall likely at isolated places” in its “daily weather forecast” for the metropolis.
