The 10-year-old son of a senior police officer was struck by a car on Tuesday while skating close to Janeshwar Mishra Park in this city, resulting in his death, according to police.
The SUV that had allegedly struck the child was found, and later in the day, the police said they had arrested two people.

According to police, Namish (10), the son of Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shweta Srivastava, who is assigned to police headquarters in Lucknow, was killed when he was struck by a car.

The child was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead following the incident, which happened in the Gomti Nagar extension area at around 5:30 in the morning, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Ashish Srivastava.

To solve the case, five police teams have been assembled.

Following the viewing of the CCTV footage of the incident, DCP Ashish Srivastava announced that two individuals, Sarthak Singh and Devshri Verma, had been taken into custody and that the white SUV that struck the child had been located.

He stated that both defendants will be placed under remand shortly.

According to him, a case has been filed against them under IPC sections 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and 304 (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder).
